Get ready...This is by far the longest caption I have ever written! Bit emotional too, for a change, with an exciting announcement 😂😁 . 3 years ago, I took this blurry photo of a quokka jumping at a camera, & it created heaps of opportunities for me, (& taught me all about copyright 😂) & over that time I've learnt what photography actually means to me & what it can achieve. . Kvoke pripadaju vrsti torbara, a kao kenguri i koale, hrane se biljkama. Reč je noćnim bićima, težina im varira od 2,5 do pet kilograma a dugačke su između 25 i 30 centimetara. Iako izgledaju kao mali, zdepasti kenguri, u stanju su da se penju na niska drveća i žbunje.

Prema rečima stručnjaka, ova životinja se ne boji i druželjubiva je, čak smatraju da će se često desiti da upravo one priđu ljudima. Neki istoričari smatraju da su kvoke jedan od prvih australijskih sisara koje su evropski doseljenici videli.

Životinja je trenutno navedena kao „ranjiva“, prema IUCN Crvenoj listi ugroženih vrsta, a zahvaljujući naporima lokalnih vlasti, njihova populacije se polako oporavlja u nekim oblastima Australije.
