Meeting with Putin is the proof of Vucic's reputation in the international community: Vesic about the meeting of the presidents of Serbia and Russia

A member of the Serbian Progressive Party Presidency, Goran Vesic, said today that the upcoming meeting of the Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic with Russia's President Vladimir Putin is just another proof of the great reputation Vucic has in the international community.

This meeting of Vucic with the president of Russia will be their 12th direct meeting, including formal and informal ones, not counting the numerous phone conversations, he added.

Vucic pointed out that there is no smaller country, like Serbia, which has such a developed bilateral cooperation with the most important countries of the world, and he reiterated that this is mostly due to the reputation Vucic has in the world.

- This allows us, as a country, to better protect our interests and attract more investments because every investor, when he sees that his country's president meets with our president, understands this as a signal that he can freely invest in Serbia. And this is already seen by the number of investments we have from China, as well as from other countries. That is why it is very important that Vucic insists on international cooperation because it strengthens Serbia's position in the international community - Vesic stressed.

He said at the meeting of Vucic and Putin, besides the issues of Kosovo and Metohija (KiM) and military cooperation, there will be words about economic cooperation and he reminded that Serbia and Russia are already cooperating in many fields - energy, agriculture, infrastructure ...

Commenting on the invasion of ROSU at Gazivode, Vesic said that the order issued by Vucic, that the Serbian Army and the police are in the state of the highest combat readiness, clearly states that Serbia will not suffer provocations and attacks on its population in Kosovo.

- We, as President Vucic said, are ready for an agreement, we are talking with the Albanians and we know that a historic agreement with them is necessary, but we are no longer a country that will suffer provocations and which will allow the threats to our people - Vesic stressed.

He emphasized that it is very important that Vucic is trying to reach a permanent agreement with the Albanians because a lasting agreement means preserving our interests in Kosovo and keeping the Serbian community.

Vesic also spoke about the reaction of the opposition on the occasion, adding that they showed that they did not care about the interests of the Serbs in Kosovo, but that they only use KiM for political quarrels.

Vesic pointed out that KiM is not a matter of political fights, it is a national issue.

- President Vucic has legitimacy, he received almost 56 percent of votes in the first round, and it would normal that everyone stands behind Vucic, that we all help him get the best possible solution for KiM, and in the end, the opposite is happening. All of the so-called politicians and frauds in the country united on the matter of KiM and against Vucic, and not because they think that they can do it better, but only because they expect it to be the topic where Vucic will lose on popularity - he said.

Natasa Kandic, Sonja Biserko, Bosko Obradovic, are on the same side... They are all united in hatred against Vucic and they want to distract him from reaching any agreement, counting that they will score some political point that way, Vesic said.

- The problem is that the victims are the people from KiM and that the people from the opposition don't value any life if they can accomplish any political point - Vesic concluded.
