According to the list of the safest countries in the world of the Institute for Economics and Peace, 163 countries are ranked according to how secure and peaceful they are. The global peace index of 2018 was based on 23 factors, including the rate of murder, political terror and death as a result of an internal conflict.

This year's list of the safest countries is almost unchanged compared to the previous one: Syria, South Sudan, Afghanistan, Iraq, Somalia, Yemen, and Libya were ravaged by the war. Russia is in the zone of countries with very low security - 154th place, Blic reports.

Although a powerful country, the US is ranked only 121th in terms of security and is located at the very bottom of the Mid Security Zone.

Most of the countries in Europe are in the zones with very high and high-security levels, including Australia and New Zealand and a dozen more on other continents.

Of the Balkan countries, Croatia is 27, Albania 52. Only two places behind Albania is Serbia, which is in the zone of high-security countries. Montenegro has jumped five places in comparison to last year, so it is at 58th place.

Macedonia is 87th, Bosnia and Herzegovina 89th, and Kosovo 92th.
