Historical signature of Kokoskov! A Serb became the first man from Europe who took over the NBA team!
Igor Kokoskov is the new trainer of Phoenix Suns, the club from Arizona confirmed!
Serbian expert signed a contract for three years and thus he became the first European who will be the head coach of an NBA team!
Kokoskov, who is currently an assistant in Utah, used to work in Los Angeles Clippers, Detroit Pistons, Cleveland Cavaliers and in Orlando.
The deal was made in Huston where Utah played against Rockets, and the general manager of Phoenix arrived just to talk with the Serb.
Kokoskov spent five seasons in Phoenix (from 2008 to 2013 as an assistant), and he got the gold medal with Slovenia at the European Championship in 2017.
One of the best players in the championship, Goran Dragic, was among the first who congratulated him on his new job in NBA.

Kokoskov is the 19th trainer in the history of Suns, which were lead by Jay Triano.
It is worth mentioning that the Suns were the worst team in the league of the Season with the score 21-61.
