Photo-robot of the average Serbian consumer: He buys only basic stuff, but he doesn't give up on "luxurious" items
The average Serbian consumer buys on discounts, he gives half of his wage on food, he doesn't go to restaurants, he doesn't trust traders, and the thing that irritates him the most is when there is one price on the shelf and another one on the register.
We give more than half of our wages for food and the least for education. It is one of a kind paradox that we give more for cigarettes and alcohol than for recreation and clothing.
The other things are not changing a lot - the average buyer goes to large shopping once a month, and he goes many times to small neighborly stores in the meantime. There are basic groceries in the basket - bread, milk, eggs and inevitable - beer.
Serbian buyer gets everything else on discounts and the various trademark products are appearing in the shopping basket more often. He doesn't seek for quality, but the price and he rarely read the declarations on products. He chooses unknown brands for technology, and he buys household items and makeup at the flea market.
The average buyer doesn't love credit cards, but he regularly writes checks for postponed payment. When he pays all the bill she has nothing left to spare, however, he doesn't give up on the benefits of modern technology - mobile phone and internet. He complains the most about uncomfortable shoes and bad cell phones, but he rarely pushes the complaints to the court.
Dissatisfied with the position of consumers and associations that are fighting for their rights, the National Consumer Organization of Serbia will not take part in actions organized by the Ministry of Trade this year.
- We will use the World day to express protest for the current situation in the field of consumer protection in Serbia. We won't work and we won't solve consumer disputes on this day - They said from NCOS.
