Vucic on Kosovo problem: We are playing chess without the queen and a rook, we are trying to get a stalemate, the best way we can for Serbia
- I can walk away from the board, but the frozen situation won't bring back the queen or the rook - the president explained
Serbian president Aleksandar Vucic was a guest of the Daily News on Ratio Television Serbia said that we are playing a game of chess without the queen and the rook and we are trying to get a stalemate when it comes to Kosovo.
He said that he is prepared to hear criticism but it is important to find a compromise.
-We are playing chess without the queen and a rook, we are trying to get a stalemate. To get our king into a corner and their pawns aren't letting us move or to get a stalemate - Vucic said.
Serbian President said that Germany recognized the independence of Kosovo and he believes that the German Chancellor Angela Merkel didn't criticize him because she respected his courage to present different opinions and solutions that are not stereotypical.
She listened what he had to say regarding Kosmet, Vucic explained, adding that he doesn't think the time works for us.
- I can walk away from the board, but the frozen situation won't bring back the queen or the rook - explained the president with the comment that Serbia lost in the bast, that nothing is on our side and that it is difficult to understand the remarks in which "the observers won't take responsibility, but they wait for you to be defeated".
Speaking about yesterday's talks with the German chancellor, Vucic said that he looked at the website of the German government and he was proud that there was a news on it that Serbia is, and will be, the partner of Germany.
- That is a great thing for us and people should know it - the president said.
Vucic said that he expects another great and important investment that he can't discuss yet.
On a question, if it's true that a German company is coming to Serbia to make components for electric cars, he said that there is something but that he can't speak about it until the investor completes the preparations.
He said that he will gladly announce the news when everything is clear.
Vucic said that it is an investment in a place in Central Serbia which will be "great future and hope" for that region.
- It's not everything up to us, but I believe that the preparations are starting soon - the president said and added that the number of people who will be employed surpasses the number of people in Mining and Smelting Combine Bor or in Hesteel Ironworks.
- You see how big we are talking about - Vucic said.
