Serbia is becoming a serious competition to Croatia in terms of Austrian investments, and it can be seen from the data obtained through the survey of Austrian investors on the topic of the economic situation in our and neighboring countries.
Vucic: I don't expect miracles in Croatia, but the conversations will be healing
According to the surveys, the economic situation in Serbia is ascending, while Croatia is slowly declining.
These data were published on February 1 after the presentation of a survey among Austrian investors in the Society of Croatian Writers in Zagreb.
35% of Austrian businessmen surveyed had positive expectations about the economic climate in Serbia during the last year's survey, and this year this percentage jumped to 45%.
This percentage is still lower than in Croatia, but only by one percent, and Serbia's jump in relation to the neighboring country is also visible in other categories.
46% of the Austrian investors marked the economic climate in Croatia as positive, unlike the last year's 55%.
31% of the surveyed thought that the situation in Croatia will remain the same, and 46% think that as well this year.
The biggest problems related to doing business in Croatia in the opinion of Austrian investors are uncertainty, bureaucracy and difficult predictability of the economic situation. Also, they are increasingly worried about the lesser availability of labor.
"Advantage Austria" conducted a survey in October and November last year on a sample of 98 Austrian companies operating in Croatia. In addition, research was also organized in other countries that are important for Austrian business.
