He never received an invitation to play for the national team of Serbia, so it is no surprise that he chose Hungary.

- I matured as a player and as a person in 2014. I scored the first goal for my club in the first game of the season. Then there was an invitation to play for the young national team of Hungary against Spain and Bosnia - Holender said at the time.

Filip indirectly admitted that he thought about Serbia's jersey during those Euro-qualifications 2013.
