Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Army General Milan Mojsilovic met today in Belgrade with KFOR Commander Major General Enrico Barduani.

They spoke about the current security situation in Kosovo and Metohija.

During the meeting, joint activities between the Serbian Army and KFOR aimed at monitoring the situation on the ground and ultimately preserving peace and security in the southern Serbian province were discussed.

It was stated during the conversation that the security situation in the province is still unstable and sensitive, and that regular contacts at all levels and joint activities should continue in order to reduce tension on the ground and prevent an escalation of the crisis.

Stressing that the Serbs in the territory of Kosovo and Metohija do not feel safe, the chief of the General Staff asked the commander of KFOR that the international security forces in the province implement their mandate in an unbiased manner, in accordance with Resolution 1244 of the United Nations Security Council and the Military-Technical Agreement, and provide a safe environment and freedom of movement to everyone, in particular to the Serb community, the Ministry of Defense said in a statement.
