Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija Petar Petkovic said today that members of the so-called Kosovo police today launched several synchronized raids on Serbian facilities and institutions in Strpce and Leposavic.

He stressed that with this, the prime minister of the provisional institutions in Pristina, Albin Kurti, continued to illegally shut down the few remaining Serbian institutions in Kosovo and Metohija.

Petkovic added that the so-called Kosovo police first raided the Novo Javno Komunalno Preduzece (public utility company) in Strpce, and then also the branches of the pension insurance (PIO) fund, the National Employment Service and the Republic Health Insurance Fund in Leposavic, subjecting employees they found there to questioning, as a result of which one employee in Strpce was taken ill.

"All this is happening in plain sight in front of the international community, which silently observes the terror against the Serbs and the further persecution of our people," said the director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija.

According to him, thousands of beneficiaries of various types of assistance depend on the work of those institutions and branches, while dozens of jobs are also at risk.

Petkovic added that Kurti did not choose this day by chance to continue with his violent, illegal and unilateral moves and stated that Kurti "exactly on the anniversary of the fake elections for fake mayors and occupiers in the north of Kosovo, is carrying out new institutional violence and new escalating unilateral moves."

"The goal of today's actions, as well as the baseless arrests of Serbs in the previous days, is for Kurti to mask his inability to form institutions in Pristina, which is why he is attacking the Serbs according to the tried and tested recipe," says Petkovic.

He added that Belgrade expects an urgent and unequivocal reaction from the international community, especially from those in Brussels (EU), and pointed out that with such moves, Kurti directly threatens the dialogue in Brussels and any possibility of normalizing relations.

Representatives of the international community, Petkovic said, with their passive approach become complicit in the institutional violence perpetrated by Pristina and in the disenfranchisement of the Serb people.
