Vucic: With death of Pope Francis, the world lost a spiritual leader who spread love and peace

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has said that he received the news of the death of the head of the Roman Catholic Church, Pope Francis, with great sadness.
"It was with great sadness that I received the news of the death of His Holiness Pope Francis. The world has lost an exceptional spiritual leader who spread love, peace and solidarity through his apostolic activity," President Vucic said in a post on X.
Pope Francis' work on strengthening inter-religious dialogue and his commitment to humanism have left an indelible mark in history, Vucic added.
"Pope Francis was a messenger of hope and reconciliation, always at the service of the most vulnerable. His loss brings sadness to us all. On behalf of the citizens of the Republic of Serbia and on my own behalf, I express my deepest condolences to the Roman Catholic Church, as well as to its believers around the world. Memory eternal," wrote Vucic.
The president of Serbia also stated that the life of Pope Francis was dedicated to faith, love and service to others and that he will be an eternal inspiration for everyone.
The Vatican announced on Sunday that Pope Francis had died in the morning, aged 88.
