Broadcaster RTS still blocked, intersection of Takovska and Svetogorska streets barricaded with dumpsters

Groups of protesting students continue to block the buildings of Radio and Television of Serbia (RTS) in Takovska Street and in Kosutnjak, and the public broadcaster announced that it is changing its programing schedule due to difficult working conditions.
The students this morning also blocked the intersection of Takovska and Svetogorska streets using dumpsters and metal barriers. Traffic was stopped in Kneza Viseslava Street in Kosutnjak.
A small group of students is in front of the RTS building in Takovska, making noise by blowing whistles and vuvuzelas and chanting.
RTS announced that, after the appeal of the public service, the students and other citizens blocking the public service let several RTS security personnel into the buildings, which made it possible to replace some of the workers who are securing the premises and protection systems.
This reduced the risk of possible incidents and accidents, it was announced on the RTS website.
Previously, RTS said that students and citizens blocking it prevent the replacement of security workers, thereby putting the facilities and their surroundings in great danger.
The students have been blocking the public service buildings since April 14 at 10 pm, and they announced that the blockade will last until a new competition for members of the Council of the Regulatory Body for Electronic Media (REM) is announced, or until RTS is shut down.
Yesterday morning, the police brought RTS employees into the building, when those gathered surrounded and blocked police cars at the intersection of Takovska and Svetogorska, trying to prevent the officers from driving the vehicles out of that area.
Since the protesters did not clear the way for official vehicles, the police pushed them back without using force. During the incident one policeman's ankle was injuted.
