Handke: Crime in Srebrenica was fratricide, genocide is legal term

Nobel Prize for Literature winner Peter Handke said in an interview with the Austrian public service ORF, that the crime in Srebrenica was fratricide.
"I don't care about (describing it as) genocide. I think it was fratricide, which is much worse," he explained.
He pointed out that genocide is a legal while fratricide is a biblical term.
"That's the tragedy, the scandalous thing," he added.
Handke pointed out that he "won't let words be dictated to him by some idiots who have no idea about language, syllables, rhythm, and melody."
"I can no longer bear the word democracy," he said when asked about the decline in popularity of liberal democracies and the strengthening of right-wing parties in large parts of the Western world.
According to Handke, today's democracies are often pseudo-democracies.
