Djuro Macut says Serbia is getting 5 new highways: This is where new roads are springing up
PM-designate Djuro Macut presented the program of his proposed government in the National Assembly today, and said, among other things, that Serbia never had a bigger and better chance to show its true face to the world.
"Our infrastructure will be built like never before in history, and the state's image in the world will be such that we will become the center of global events. Never in history have we had a bigger and better chance to show the world our true face," said Macut.
Djuro Macut added that the adoption of the spatial plan of the Republic of Serbia, as the highest planning document, and the comprehensive reform of the legal framework in the areas of construction and traffic infrastructure are in the works.
He said that today there are 166,000 active construction sites in Serbia, while in 2014 there were 500.
Presenting the program of his cabinet, Macut said that construction projects for as many as five highways are currently underway: Preljina-Pozega, Belgrade-Zrenjanin-Novi Sad, Belgrade-Sarajevo, Sremska Raca-Kuzmin, and the Morava Corridor - Pojate-Preljina.
Macut pointed out that the section of the Horgos-Novi Sad highway toward the Kelebija border crossing is under construction, as well as the Ruma-Sabac-Loznica, the Badovinci-Slepcevic, while the design of the Loznica-border crossing-Mali Zvornik high-speed road, along with the Karakaj bridge, is being designed.
"Construction is ongoing of the high-speed road Novi Sad-Ruma, Iverak-Lajkovac and the southern bypass around Valjevo-Pozarevac-Golubac, as well as Backi Breg-Sombor-Kikinda in the length of 186 kilometers.. We are also building a ring road around Novi Sad with a bridge over the Danube, then around Gornji Milanovac, around Uzice, while the construction of the northern ring road around Kragujevac is underway," said Macut.
