Patriarch Porfirije meets with Vucevic and Selakovic to discuss importance of preserving national unity

Patriarch of the Serbian Orthodox Church (SPC) Porfirije has spoken with members of the caretaker government - Prime Minister Milos Vucevic and Minister of Culture Nikola Selakovic - about the importance of preserving national unity.

They also discussed cooperation between the Church and the state, the SPC announced today.

The patriarch pointed out the importance of achieving peace "within us and among us."

"In a warm conversation, the interlocutors emphasized the importance of preserving national unity. The Holy Patriarch once again pointed out the necessity of achieving peace within us and peace between us and emphasized the importance of continuing the fruitful cooperation between the Church and state and social factors for the good of all citizens," a statement said.
