Deputies to be verified in Pristina assembly, Serb List taking over and keeping Serb mandates

Registration of deputies who won mandates in the February 9 elections will take place today in the assembly in Pristina.
Among them are nine deputies from the Serb List who will be taking over and keeping these mandates in the hands of the Serb people, intended for the Serb community.
As they have pointed out several times so far, it is important that the Serb mandates remain in Serb hands in order to protect the interests of the Serb people.
The deputies are Zlatan Elek, Igor Simic, Slavko Simic, Verica Ceranic, Ljiljana Stevanovic, Branislav Nikolic, Srdjan Popovic, Miljana Nikolic, and Stefan Kovacevic.
The Serb List won almost 40,000 Serb votes in those elections, while the electoral process was accompanied by numerous cases of obstruction at the expense of the Serb List and attempts by the prime minister of the provisional institutions in Pristina, Albin Kurti, and his Self-Determination movement to ban the Serb List and prevent it from participating in the ballot.
When he failed to do so, Kurti, through a minister in the provisional institutions, Nenad Rasic, took away one mandate from the Serb people, that is, Rasic entered the assembly thanks to Albanian votes, to occupy a seat reserved for the Serb community.
Therefore, the Serb List stressed, he has no legitimacy to represent the Serb people, and instead represents the government in Pristina.
