President of Serbian National Assembly Ana Brnabic says that it is important for Serbia to get a new government as soon as possible, and that she expects that, during the consultations President Aleksandar Vucic will have with the SNS party tomorrow, new people will be proposed as candidates for prime minister, and that there will be surprises.

"New faces, new energy, I think that's all good, just as it would be good if we get a more positive response from the blockaders after that about whether they want dialogue or not," Brnabic told B92.

Brnabic said that the deadlines are short and that it will be known soon whether Serbia will get a new government (elected by the Assembly) or whether elections will be held, and added that unless a new government is elected by midnight on April 18, snap elections will be called and held in early June.

"Soon we will have a clear picture of how to proceed," Brnabic said.

She stressed that conversation is necessary and the only way to get out of a crisis.

Brnabic added that dialogue requires responsibility, that brave people and people with integrity are needed.

"You cannot conduct a dialogue if you have people hiding behind their anonymity. I think it's a big obstacle to dialogue, but I assume that in the new government we will have people who will be able to find solutions for such issues, which is important," said Brnabic.

She pointed out that President Vucic is always open to dialogue and that he called for it to take place, as well as that she has invited both the academic community and the blockaders to talks countless times.

"But when you have one side that forever hides behind anonymity, then you can't talk about striving toward a society that is transparent, just, that is based on responsibility, because anonymity is everything that is the opposite of that. We are used to functioning even without dialogue, but I think it would be good for our country if the other side demonstrated a little more responsibility," Brnabic stated.
