Members of NATO's operational reserves start their deployment in Kosovo and Metohija

Members of Albanian, Bulgarian, Greek and Romanian troops from NATO's operational reserves have started their deployment in the KFOR mission in the Autonomous Province of Kosovo and Metohija.
According to an announcement, the International Operational Reserve Battalion (ORF) took over from the Turkish battalion, in line with the force rotation plan under the command of the Joint Command in Naples.
This is about 270 members of the forces who will perform their duties temporarily, together with another 200 members of the reserve forces from an Italian brigade.
"This reinforcement, together with KFOR troops, will increase the mission's ability to respond to relevant security developments, in line with the mandate under UN Security Council Resolution 1244 from 1999," the statement said.
It is added that KFOR continues to contribute to a "safe and secure" environment for all communities living in Kosovo and Metohija, in close cooperation with the so-called Kosovo police and the EULEX mission.
