Caretaker Prime Minister of Serbia Milos Vucevic said on Sunday that he advocates in favor of forming a new government, but that parliamentary elections can never be ruled out.

"If there is no agreement regarding a (new) government, we will go to the polls, but my vote is to elect a new government (in the Assembly)," Vucevic told TV Pink.

He explained that it is necessary for the new government to have new people and new energy, the capacity to stabilize the country after everything that has been happening, and to work on economic recovery, strengthening the state, as well as to launch social dialogue.

"I think we will see a lot of new people, the additional strength that this should bring and optimism among the citizens of Serbia. I am in favor of electing a new government, a Serbian government, not that fake transitional one, that will not happen, and one can never rule out (early) elections," said Vucevic.

He said he hoped that the majority in Serbia has sobered up and does not fall for the stories that could be heard these days, noting that one lie is simply replacing another.
