Serbian citizens who happen to currently be in Myanmar, as well as the staff of the Serbian Embassy, have not been injured in devastating earthquakes that struck that country this morning.

As confirmed by our embassy in Yangon, the embassy staff is in constant contact with our citizens.

"According to the currently available data, all citizens of the Republic of Serbia temporarily staying in Myanmar are well, as is the staff of our Embassy in Yangon. The Embassy remains in constant contact with our citizens in Myanmar and will provide them with all the necessary help and support," the Embassy told Telegraf.rs.

Two devastating earthquakes hit Myanmar, the first, an M7.7 in the Mandalay area, followed by another of 6.4 magnitude.

At least three people died in Myanmar, while two were killed in Bangkok, Thailand, when a building under construction collapsed.
