Serbia to declare day of mourning for victims of North Macedonia night club tragedy that claimed 59 lives

Minister of Labor, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs Nemanja Starovic said on Sunday that the Government of Serbia, acting on the initiative President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic, will declare Tuesday, March 18, a day of mourning for the victims of a night club fire in Kocani, North Macedonia.

The tragedy that happened in the Pulse night club in the night between Saturday and Sunday has claimed 59 lives, also leaving more than 100 people injured.

"Tomorrow, the Government of Serbia will declare Tuesday, March 18, a day of mourning in the territory of the entire Republic of Serbia, that is the least we can do at this moment," Starovic told TV Prva.

Serbian authorities later on Sunday announced that Serbian medical teams, as well as helicopters to help transport the injured, have been dispatched to North Macedonia.
