President of the National Assembly of Serbia Ana Brnabic on Friday addressed the public.

"As the Assembly president, I felt the need to speak, at least briefly, after the recordings evidenced by the entire public, taken during the meetings where young people from different parties, members of NGOs, even some professors participated. They all planned a coup together, violence as a prelude to civil war and the assassination of President Vucic," Brnabic said.

What was most shocking to her, she added, was the role of the University of Belgrade (BU).

"Marija Vasic, a professor who participated in such a meeting and never cautioned the students that what they were doing was brutal violence, that it was the planning of a coup. That it was the planning a military coup, that it would result in massive bloodshed. They said that they should carry poles, hammers and manipulate all the citizens who gather at that rally, and their goal was a military coup and a coup d'état. Professor Marija Vasic who is not cautioning the students but participating in the planning of the coup, says: 'Do we have information that the BU is in contact with the Army trade union?' Mila Pajic (replies): 'No, we don't.' Professor Vasic: "I have and they said that the Army union contacted them and that they would come at their call, in case of action," said Brnabic.

About tractors and security

Brnabic pointed out that those students who simply want to attend classes do not exist for Rector Djokic, for the deans, and that those students made a brave but worrying decision, which is to stay in Pionirski Park.

"They are the only ones who have reported a gathering, legally reported it (to the police). They are prevented from getting an education by their colleagues, deans, rectors. All the rights are denied to them, even for the deans and the rector see them as human beings. Is this one of the reasons? Is the role of the BU, professors, deans, rectors to educate young people in Serbia, or to organize a military coup?"

The Assembly, she added, has been closed for security reasons.

"There is a legal basis and I think that it is only normal, natural and reasonable that we made a decision, in order to try to reduce security risks, to close the Assembly. So that no one would try to cause incidents in the Assembly itself. If that were to happen, I'm sure the public would ask why it was kept open. Even I can't get in. I think that this is completely normal, natural and the only possible way in order to call for the calming of tensions and to avoid abuse of any institutions," Brnabic said.
