Prosecution issues order to Criminal Investigations Police over Serbian National Assembly chaos
The on-duty public prosecutor with the First Basic Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade has sent a demand to the Criminal Investigations Police (UKP) to collect the necessary information in order to determine the perpetrators, or any elements necessary to press charges of Serious Offenses against Public Security, in relation to Tuesday's incidents in the National Assembly.
Police officers are ordered to establish the relevant facts and collect all available evidence in order to determine the identity of the persons who brought and used pyrotechnic devices, as well as how they were brought into the premises of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia.
The order also asks the police to determine the identity of the persons who threw various objects and thereby caused injuries to people's deputies.
Those injured during the incidents are also to be identified, with medical documentation to be submitted.
After establishing the complete and accurate facts, the public will be informed about any further actions.
