We walked along the path toddler Dunja probably did, too: Mud everywhere, huge meadow, forest and bushes

2-year-old Dunja Markovic, who disappeared yesterday in the town of Ub, was found this morning after a painstaking search.

Telegraf went to the scene and filmed the path along which the toddler is believed to have passed, and the spot where a Mountain Rescue Service (GSS) dog managed to locate her.

We encountered a big muddy meadow bordered only by a forest and dense bushes.

As can be seen in the footage taken by the Telegraf crew, the place where the little girl spent the night is surrounded by mud and the meadow, while the closest place where she could have taken shelter is a forest and spiky bushes.

A little farther down the meadow, we filmed a very dangerous gully, so it seems that it is very lucky that Dunja was found alive and well in time.

The girl was found this morning by the GSS about a kilometer from her home.

Her great-grandfather spoke about this for our portal, revealing how the family felt in this situation.

The hero, or rather, the heroine of the search is a specially trained GSS dog named Mala. The girl was found near the location from which she disappeared.

"We searched all night, and in the morning, when we were finishing that last zone, our search dog came across the girl and marked her. The girl is fine, she had hypothermia, we leave the rest to the doctors to determine what and how to proceed," GSS rescuer Aleksa Gluscevic said earlier.

Her grandfather Zivislav Rankovic spoke for Telegraf.rs and said that the toddler is was not even two years old and could not have gone all the way to where she was found on her own. He also said sees as "the strangest thing" that the search party had passed through where the child was eventually found, but she was not there at the time.

"This morning around 6, we passed by the TV tower, through the forests, trees and we didn't find her, and around 7 this morning a dog found her. She's not even two and could get to there, for a child to show up there this morning, I don't understand it," he said.
