Iran confirms participation in EXPO 2027 in Belgrade

President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic announced today, after the talks with Iran's Minister of Information and Communications Technology Sattar Hashemi, that Iran will participate in EXPO 2027 in Belgrade.
Vucic assessed that the meeting was good and cordial, adding that they discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and the strengthening of economic cooperation in all areas where that is possible.
"I thanked the minister for the letter from President of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian, who confirmed the country's participation in EXPO 2027 and I pointed out that we are looking forward to the arrival of representatives of that country," Vucic wrote on the Instagram account "buducnostsrbijeav".
Vucic added that they discussed how the two countries could use the potential for strengthening cooperation in the fields of energy, health tourism, agriculture and the ICT sector in the best possible way.
"In this regard, we referred to the signing of a memorandum on cooperation in the field of information technologies, which will contribute to the development of innovative solutions in the field of telecommunications, digital skills, information security and the development of data centers.
I expressed my gratitude for Iran's consistent position when it comes to the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia, which shows that that country firmly respects the principles of international law," the president stressed.
