Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia Aleksandar Vulin has said that the start of negotiations in Riyadh is good news for the whole world and proof that Russia did not fight against Ukraine, but against the entire Western world.

And it is clear that the conflict could have been avoided only if the West had adhered to the Minsk agreements, Vulin said.

He told RIA Novosti that the negotiations between Russian and US representatives in Riyadh showed that the West cannot defeat Russia militarily.

Vulin also expects that the meeting in Riyadh will be the beginning of an agreement between world powers, after which a security system will be established that will guarantee an acceptable peace for the next 50 years.

A meeting between the delegations of Russia and the US was held in Riyadh on Tuesday, which both sides assessed as positive, where it was agreed to re-establish diplomatic communication between the two countries and form teams for peace negotiations on Ukraine.
