Orban: Serbia and Hungary need to stand and stick together

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said during a joint news conference with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic in Budapest on Monday, that Serbia and Hungary should stay stand and stick together.

Orban also stressed that he will advocate that Hungary does not interfere in the internal affairs of other countries, but also that it does everything against attempts to destabilize Serbia, Slovakia and other countries.

"I could mention the destabilization attempts in Hungary, which were less successful, but destabilization is bad for everyone, because it means that it's not our people who decide, nor the governments elected by those people, but someone from the outside. That is why we should advocate for sovereignty. The Western Balkans cannot be stabilized without Serbia, because it is the key to stabilization."

If Serbia does not get the recognition and perspective from the European Union which it deserves, then the EU is trying in vain to have a Balkan policy because without Serbia, it will not work, Orban said when asked by Tanjug if he had any advice for President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic, considering the current political and security situation in the world, Europe, Serbia and Hungary.

According zo Orban, the president should think "in broad terms because the time is coming to set big goals."

"The president mentioned that we regularly jointly analyze the political situation in Europe, in the world, that is, in the region, and I am glad that it was useful to him, that is, to Serbia. I am always a student who is listening, paying attention and solving the puzzle based on what he hears from others. The president should think in big terms, because now the time is coming when we can set big goals for ourselves, because we have the wind in our sails and we will talk about it in the coming weeks and months," said the Hungarian prime minister.
