Caretaker Prime Minister Milos Vucevic on Tuesday addressed the Serbian public.
"We made a short but meaningful summary of the things we have done in the previous two months, primarily in the field of education, because there was serious progress there," he said at the start of his speech, adding that an agreement was reached with trade unions, but that now, "someone is trying to cancel that and present the representatives of these trade unions as illegal."
"Someone is trying to delegitimize the unions and challenge what has been achieved, and all of it is the result of purely political decisions, even though they (unions) successfully represented the interests of their members and fought to improve their status," explained Vucevic.
He said that he believes that the state's economic and social stability will be preserved.
"Every day of not working and organizing blockades, and I especially draw attention to the strikes that are not in accordance with the law, cost us a lot economically. We had the toughest January in the last few years. When someone is saying that a civil war will break out, that they will block the state, that is certainly not a good message to investors," he pointed out.
Regarding traffic blockades in Belgrade and Novi Sad, Vucevic said that he is asking the citizens to be patient and use other routes, in order to avoid increasing tensions.
