Vucic: On Statehood Day or the day before, we will pass a declaration on Vojvodina in Serbia

President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic said today that the northern province of Vojvodina will forever be Serbia and announced that a large gathering will be organized on Sretenje (Serbian Statehood Day and major Orthodox holiday) or the day before, during which the People's Declaration on Vojvodina in Serbia will be adopted.
"Where we will clearly state where and what the future of Serbia is," said Vucic in a video posted on Instagram.
He pointed out that we do not have a "spare" homeland and that Vojvodina is Serbia.
Vucic said that in recent days and weeks, in the north of Serbia, there have been attempts to abuse young people in our country, as initiatives to give the widest autonomy to Vojvodina got relaunched.
"All the way to Vojvodina being a republic, to speaking a Vojvodina language and the idea that Vojvodina should secede from Serbia. As people who are responsible, as people who know what Serbia is, what our country is, what our homeland is, we are under obligation to oppose that democratically, using political means.
And that's why, on Sretenje or the day before, we will organize a big gathering where we will pass a people's declaration about Vojvodina in Serbia, where we will clearly say where and what the future of Serbia is, and that's why I'm asking you to show determination because we don't have a spare homeland. We only have one, that is Serbia, we will fight and we will meet on Sretenje," Vucic stressed.
The president, along with the video message, wrote on Instagram that Vojvodina will forever be Serbia.
"Forever. And there is no giving in and retreating in front of those who want to destroy our country. We will meet on Sretenje!", stressed Vucic.
