Goran Vesic's lawyer, Nemanja Aleksic, issued a statement today saying that his client has not left Serbia since the Novi Sad railway station tragedy.

"Regarding the campaign of lies that has been conducted in recent days against my client Goran Vesic on social networks as well as in certain media," lawyer Nemanja Aleksic, from the Aleksic and Associates law firm, started his statement, and continued:

"Goran Vesic has not left the territory of the Republic of Serbia after after November 1, 2024, when a tragedy occurred at the train station in Novi Sad. Goran Vesic handed over his private passport to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, based on the Law on Travel Documents, and returned the diplomatic passport to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia.

My client, Goran Vesic, does not have a passport, so it is clear that he cannot travel outside the country. My client Goran Vesic does not own real estate outside of the Republic of Serbia. We ask the media not to publish inaccurate information, but to check it with the competent state authorities first," the statement said.
