Milos Vucevic, who currently heads Serbia's caretaker government, said that the SNS party is slightly closer to deciding in favor of new elections than forming a new government.

"In ten days, two weeks we will make a decision. Both options have advantages, I won't say disadvantages, but also certain challenges. We may be a shade closer to going to elections than forming a new government, but that does not mean that's the final decision. We are also waiting for a round of consultations within the SNS and with coalition partners. Some coalition partners have already declared that they are in favor of a new government, the SPS and Zavetnici did," said Vucevic.

He said that all aspects will be considered.

"We will consider what each option brings - what new elections bring and what electing a new government (in the Assembly) brings. We will not be guided by partisan interests. We showed that with this act of resignation. Instead it will be what is the interest of Serbia, the citizens of Serbia, what can lead us towards calming tensions in society, that is, seeking social dialogue," said Vucevic.

He decisively rejected the possibility of forming a transitional government.
