Vucic: Decision to be made in next ten days whether to hold elections or form new government

President Aleksandar Vucic said last night that in the next ten days, a decision will be made whether, after the resignation of Prime Minister Milos Vucevic, Serbia will hold elections, or if a new government will be formed.

Vucic pointed out that stability in the country will be preserved.

"Serbia will preserve peace. In the next ten days, we will make a decision whether we to go to elections or form a new government. We were all surprised by this. We do not have any candidates. It's incredible," Vucic said during his address to the citizens after the extraordinary session of the Government of Serbia, held after Vucevic submitted his resignation earlier in the day.

Vucic said that everyone was satisfied with the difficult work they did the previous evening, accepting the demands of the students who are organizing blockades, in the interest of the citizens.

He added that, thanks to the frivolous and irresponsible games and behavior of certain political actors, the country has been put in a difficult situation, while it is under enormous pressure from the outside.

"Our stability is under threat, civil peace is under threat, many things are under threat. Some people carry out violence every day in every possible way. Illegal behavior is encouraged here in every possible way. It is considered normal, it is considered commonplace," said the president.

He asked what would happen if SNS supporters start defacing other parties' premises, smashing them, while there is no police response.

"Is it allowed? Is it allowed for someone else to come in front of the apartments and houses of their political opponents, as you (opposition) came in front of the house of Milun Todorovic, let's say, and many others? Did you really think it was possible? Order will be restored in Serbia. Very much so. Stability will be safeguarded in Serbia," Vucic said.

He added those who break into Matica Srpska and the premises of political parties, as well as those who call Patriarch Porfirije "Profitije" and think that they have not threatened anyone's religious feelings will soon meet with opposition.

Vucic announced that he will soon go to precisely to Novi Sad as one of the founders of the new movement.

"Not because of all this, but primarily because of the separatist agenda that is being carried out in the north of Serbia, and I will address the people, since I have no intention of running away from anyone in my country. And if the people want Vojvodina as a republic, or if some pretend that they don't see what's behind everything, that's another matter. We will certainly oppose it very strongly and very harshly," said Vucic.
