Mother of two killed near Umka, 56 people injured! This is how tragedy happened, blood-curdling scenes

Violeta I. (45), a mother of two, was killed in a terrible accident that occurred when two buses - one owned by Lasta and the other by Sevic Tours collided head-on, leaving as many as 56 people injured.

The unfortunate woman was on the Sevic bus, while another passenger died on the Lasta bus, which was transporting TENT (Nikola Tesla Power Plant) workers, Informer is reporting.

Unofficially, the driver of the Sevic bus, Z.G., that was traveling from Umka to Belgrade at one point decided to overtake a column of vehices, but failed to return to his lane in time and crashed directly into the oncoming Lasta bus, driven by R.Z.

As we have unofficially learned, the Sevic bus was on an intercity route, and the Laste nis was transporting workers.

MUP statement

Two buses were involved in a traffic accident that happened around 6:20 this morning on Obrenovacki road, on the section between Umka and Ostruznica, resulting in the deaths of two people, while a number of others were injured, the Interior Ministry, MUP, said.

Police officers, firefighters and rescue teams, as well as ambulance crews were at the scene of the accident.

19 people were treated at the Emergency Center as of earlier this morning.

Traffic was stopped in both directions.

The scenes at the site of the crash are blood-curdling.

Vehicle parts scattered on the road, items thrown around, blood and glass...

Worried people were standing next to the buses.

Telegraf.rs learned that the second victim was U.H., 28 years old.
