The Novi Sad opposition blocked the Novi Sad-Belgrade highway today, stating that in this way they are supporting the students blocking faculties.

The students called for a general strike today, i.e. a "total suspension of all activities" saying that they mean, "general civil disobedience."

The general strike was also supported by certain opposition parties, including the Democratic Party, as well as the NADA coalition, which announced that it would block the E75 highway.

University and high school students announced that protests and road blockades will be organized in several locations in Belgrade, including a 45-minute blocking of the Usce shopping center.

The Most Ostaje initiative announced a blockade of Takovska Street near RTS, and the Protest Board of Lawyers said they would protest in front of the Serbian Presidency building.

Protests and blockades were also announced in Novi Sad, Nis, Kragujevac, Uzice and several other cities.

Serbian Prime Minister Milos Vucevic told the citizens yesterday to be calm and patient on Friday and even more tolerant than usual towards those who think differently, and his message for those who participate in protest gatherings was not to disturb people who want to go about their business.
