Man suspected of gangland murders in Belgrade arrested and indicted after 27 years!
The Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade has filed an indictment against Zoran V. (48) on suspicion that he on January 26, 1998 killed H.A. and J.A. in a building in Zmaj Jovina Street in Belgrade.
With the indictment, which was submitted to the Higher Court in Belgrade for confirmation, Zoran V. is charged with the criminal offense of aggravated murder.
The prosecution proposed to the court to extend the defendant's detention as he is considered a flight risk.
The suspect is believed to have climbed the stairs to the fourth floor of the building, where he put on a black knitted balaclava and knitted gloves, and at the moment when the victims opened the door of the apartment, fired five shots at them from a pistol.
He hit H.A with three bullets, and J.A with two, causing serious, life-threatening injuries, as a result of which both died.
Zoran V. then took the stairs to the exit of the building, and on the way took off the mask and gloves, which he discarded inside the building, after which he walked away in an unknown direction, the indictment reads.
