Director of the Office for Information Technologies and Electronic Administration Mihailo Jovanovic said today that the Lozionica center will be a gathering place for young, creative, innovative people, involved in art, digitization, and new technologies.
He stated that the Government of Serbia, through that office, which is the holder of investor rights, invested 63 million euros in the construction, reconstruction, construction of a large garage and the furnishing of the entire area of the Lozionica center.
"I will refer to the Annex building, which is intended for digitization, information and communication technologies. It is the first building where we want to create a connection between public administration and citizens, where citizens will be able to come freely, to cooperate with us, where together with the startup community, science, innovators, young, creative people, we will further develop digitization and electronic administration of the Republic of Serbia," Jovanovic said during a tour of the construction site of the Lozionica center, where he was together with Prime Minister Milos Vucevic.
He stated that Lozionica will include creative industries, digitization, electronic administration, information and communication technologies and that, apart from being a beautiful space, it combines the past, the present and the future.
"This is the place from where the first railway started in 1884, the line between Belgrade and Nis, the place where in 1925, i.e. 100 years ago, a furnace was built as a miracle of the second industrial revolution. This is the place where we have a beautiful water tower, its third version, and the second was done by our immortal scientist Milankovic between the two wars. This is the place that the Government of Serbia is transforming into a place that will be the initiator of the fourth industrial revolution," he said.
Jovanovic pointed out that the ICT sector has been growing at a rate of 20 percent per year for the last 10 years and that this growth will continue.
