A delegation of the Serb List, led by its leader Zlatan Elek, visited the 13-member Ostojic family in the village of Osojane in the municipality of Istok, as part of the campaign for the upcoming parliamentary elections organized by Pristina.

Elek said that he expects that party to win all 10 mandates reserved for the Serb community, adding that this is the only way for the survival of the Serb people in Kosovo and Metohija.

"This is not our first and last visit here. We will always come and you know that we are at your disposal. What is most important and what I have to say to all of you and repeat at all gatherings is that the Serb List is the only one that has the support of the state of Serbia. We can do nothing here without the state of Serbia. The state of Serbia pays over 32,000 salaries and over 28,000 pensions. That's not counting welfare benefits and food allowance," said Elek.

He stressed that this is why people should vote in the elections on February 9 and added that not being on the side of the state is the same as being on Kurti's side.

He noted that in the previous period, the state of Serbia secured a large number of jobs and that this is another way to survive.

"When we go to Belgrade to talk with President Vucic, we are asking for new jobs because we believe that with jobs, by employing people, we can survive here. It has been proven that we have employed a lot of people. It cannot always be ideal and for everyone to work. We have to be a little patient, this too shall pass," said Elek.

The Ostojic family was driven out of Osojane in 1999, but they returned to a new house, which was built using the Office for Kosovo and Metohija funds in 2001.

The Serb List delegation continues its tour of Metohija with visits to the villages of Zac, Gorazdevac, and Rudice.
