President of the National Assembly of Serbia Ana Brnabic said today that the movement for the people and the state that is being created is of essential importance for the future of Serbia and stressed that it is above politics and parties.

Brnabic told TV Happy that the movement should bring together people who have not been in politics so far or who have not found themselves in the ideology of any political party, but who are in favor of a Serbia that is stable and advanced, a Serbia of peace, democracy, the rule of law and institutions.

Asked whether students can also be part of the movement whose establishment was announced by President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic, she said that there is a place for young people and students there, especially considering that they carried Serbian flags and "No Surrender" banners during protests.

"I believe that these young people can see the movement as something that is their home and see that there is some new strength that is really extremely needed at this moment, fundamentally needed because it is also a call for dialogue and conversation," she pointed out.

"I think that flag also says that it should unite everyone. Not only 'No surrender of Kosovo and Metohija', but 'we will not give in as international law is violated', 'we will also defend the UN Charter'," she added.

Stating that some media reported that she said the SNS was forming a movement, Brnabic pointed out that she did not say that because she is a proud member of the SNS, and sees the movement as something much broader than SNS and a corrective factor.

"I think it is a state-building party, the best party in the history of Serbia, I will remain committed to the Serbian Progressive Party. I see the movement as something that will also be a corrective factor for us, something much broader than the Serbian Progressive Party. There will be many parties and many movements, many individuals who have nothing to do with the SNS, I would even say individuals who do not fully agree with the politics of the SNS", pointed out Brnabic.

According to her, it will be a pro-Serbian, state-building, national movement, where it will not be legitimate to talk about discrediting Serbia or separatist intentions, as they do in some opposition parties and newly formed movements and groups.

She cited the example of Goran Jesic, who demanded that the province of Vojvodina should have its own area code, as well as Dinko Gruhonjic, who publishes stories about autonomy of Vojvodina on his portal.

"They already recognize and accept the fake state of Kosovo. Next - Vojvodina. I called twice for Marinika Tepic and the party she belongs to, which is Djilas' Party of Freedom and Justice, to disassociate themselves from that. They didn't," Brnabic stressed and added that she does not see them in the new movement.
