Brnabic meets with Egyptian foreign minister, discusses cooperation between two countries

President of the Serbian National Assembly Ana Brnabic met today with Minister of Foreign Affairs Egypt Badr Abdelatty.
They confirmed the intense and high-quality bilateral relations, which are experiencing a rapid rise in the last decade thanks to the personal commitment and contribution of the two presidents, Aleksandar Vucic and Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.
Brnabic pointed out that Serbia remains firmly committed to improving and deepening the overall cooperation between the two countries, as well as that she is convinced that parliamentary institutions will contribute to the further strengthening of bilateral relations through cooperation, the Serbian Assembly announced.
Brnabic added that she was glad that Serbia had the opportunity to host President of the Senate of Egypt Abdel-Wahab Abdel-Razeq at the beginning of last November, as well as House Speaker Hanafi Jabali in 2023, pointed out that this provided significant impetus to the strengthening of parliamentary cooperation, and noted that visits will continue.
She spoke about the importance of the adoption of a joint declaration on strategic partnership during the Egyptian president's visit to Serbia, as well as the signing of a free trade agreement and other bilateral agreements during the Serbian president's visit to Egypt.
Brnabic said that the draft law to ratify the free trade agreement between the two countries will soon be on the agenda of the Serbian Assembly.
Minister Abdelatty pointed out that economic cooperation between Serbia and Egypt is good and developed and that they are committed to strengthening it, as well as that joint presence on the African continent would bring benefits to both sides.
He congratulated Serbia for hosting the specialized exhibition EXPO 2027 in Belgrade, adding that Egypt has confirmed its participation and expressing his hope that as many Egyptian business people as possible will recognize the importance of the event.
