Vucic: Opposition's brutal violence unacceptable, state will safeguard peace and stability

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said today that the brutal violence organized by opposition parties is unacceptable and that the country will preserve peace and stability, as well as that elections are the only way to come to power in Serbia.

In a video address posted on Instagram, he pointed out that irresponsible politicians brutally violated the law of the Republic of Serbia, obstructed officials performing their duties and broke into the City Hall of Novi Sad.

"Today we have some good news and some things that are worrying, but with the state will deal with. The good news is that I believe that the lady from Novi Sad is recovering well, even better and important news is that the child, an 18-year-old girl who was injured yesterday in the terrible incident in Ruzveltova Street (in Belgrade) is recovering well and will released home to her parents as soon as on Monday.

That is very good news. The bad news is that irresponsible politicians, not wanting to hear my appeal, but also not wanting to hear and obey the letter of the law, brutally trampled the law of the Republic of Serbia, obstructed officials in the performance of their duties and broke into the City Hall of Novi Sad," said Vucic.

He added that they have no place there, nor is the City Assembly located there, because that is the mayor's office - and none of them are the mayor.

"Such brutal violence organized by opposition parties is something that is inadmissible. Of course, the state reacted, kicked them out, as it will always do, because elections are the only way to come to power in Serbia," said Vucic.
