Video showing woman crawling under electronic gates at Belgrade airport appears online
A surveillance cameras video showing a woman Aero.rs already reported about. who crawled under the new electronic gates and escaped the attention of security officers at Belgrade's Nikola Tesla Airport, has appeared on social networks.
As reported, the unusual security incident took place on Wednesday, January 8, when a woman, a citizen of Serbia, got to a Wizz Air plane that was preparing to fly to Malta and tried to board it without a boarding pass or travel documents.
Aero.rs found out that she has been deported from France, and was taken over by airport's ground service officers.
Although nobody from the Belgrade airport, the Ministry of Interior of Serbia and the Directorate of Civil Aviation has yet officially reacted to this incident, so far it is known that this person took advantage of the moment when she was unattended and left the room where she has been taken to.
She then crawled under the electronic gates at the entry into the country and continued to crawl along the entry line and later slipped through the counter-subversion control which was not working at that moment.
It is still unclear how she managed to get to the airport platform and head towards the Wizz Air plane. The Ministry of Internal Affairs told Telegraf that a misdemeanor charge was filed against a woman who tried to board a plane without documents.
We have been informed that the Directorate of Civil Aviation is conducting an investigation into this incident.
The Aero.rs portal received a statement from the Belgrade Airport company:
"The Belgrade Airport company is cooperating with the competent authorities in connection with this case and while the investigation is ongoing, we are unable to provide any details."
