President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic said yesterday that we have countless problems in the Autonomous Province of Kosovo and Metohija, and he told the Serbs in the province that, no matter how much pressures there is, the situation in the world is slowly changing and that Serbia will always be with its people.

Vucic wished a happy Julian calendar New Year to the Serb people in Kosovo and Metohija, as well as in the Serb Republic and Montenegro.

"It will be celebrated in Kosovo and Metohija, it will be celebrated in the Serb Republic, in Montenegro. I want to congratulate everyone on the New Year, wish them all the best and to tell our people in Kosovo and Metohija, regardless of what they (those against them) do, however much pressure they exert, the situation in the world is slowly changing. And we will always be with our people in Kosovo and Metohija, it will always be a part of Serbia for us," Vucic told TV Pink.

Referring to the fact that the prime minister of the provisional institutions of Pristina, Albin Kurti, started the election campaign by saying that "for Serbia we have both the army and the police," Vucic ironically said, "we have neither the army nor the police, he does."

"Just let everyone brag. How many times in my life have I heard, 'Vucic, you're done by Christmas', 'you're done by Easter', 'you're done by New Year', 'you're done in September', 'you're done in these elections', but then, 'let's not have elections', 'let kids replace you', now let this one replace you, then the other. And how many times has that happened - not once," Vucic stressed.

He repeated that he would leave when he decides.

"I told them a hundred times, it will happen when I say, they didn't believe me. Now they believe me and now they know it will happen when I say. And they won't have to wait too long," added Vucic.

He said that it is important to see how the country will move forward and that the country has tremendous ambitions and a tremendous desire to reach those goals that it could not reach in the previous 50, 60, 70 years.

"We want the face of Serbia to be completely changed in less than two years," said Vucic.

He announced that pensions will continue to grow rapidly and that wages will also progress - real, not nominal wages.

"But we have to continue to build the country, we have to rapidly build the country, we have to invest enormous energy," said Vucic.

He added that there are problems when it comes to the opening of the Belgrade-Subotica railway because, "nobody wants to sign anything."

"It's as if everyone is just looking for a way to stop anything from working, because people have seen what kind of fuss is raised over everything. Everyone wants a salary, no one wants to be responsible for anything anymore, no one will do anything. And we have to push things forward and rush forward. That's why I encourage people to work," Vucic said.
