The Central Election Commission in Kosovo and Metohija has certified the list of citizens who have the right to vote in the elections on February 9, 2025, according to which there are a total of 2,075,868 voters.

The result of the census held in April and May this year, meanwhile, shows that there are 1,586,659 inhabitants there.

Out of the total number of voters, 1,970,944 have the right to vote at polling stations in Kosovo and Metohija, and 104,924 people are registered to vote outside of it.

This figure makes a very big difference compared to the number of citizens registered in Kosovo - the difference is 384,285, reports Pristina-based Gazeta Express.

The difference is even greater considering that out of the total number of registered citizens, a part of them are young people without the right to vote, according to this portal.

DPK member in the Central Election Commission Arijanit Elsani said that the voter list includes citizens who will be over 18 years old on election day, as well as all citizens living abroad, and deceased persons whose families did not report their passing neither to a municipality nor the Registration Agency.

"We receive the voter list from the interior ministry, so the blame lies with them and the municipalities that do not have updated databases," concluded Elsani.
