An eery morning dawned in Cetinje, Montenegro today, after a massacre committed by Aco Martinovic (45), who shot and killed at least 12 people and wounded 4.

Police are still securing a tavern in the center of the town, where it all started.

Residents of Cetinje say they cannot describe the grief they are experiencing them.

"I didn't really know the killer very well, he worked as a car mechanic. Last night, cries could be heard throughout Cetinje. We still haven't recovered from the tragedy that befell us in 2022, and now this," the locals said, reports Rina.

Prosecutor Andrijana Nastic announced late last night that the murders were committed at five locations, and that the perpetrator of these crimes committed suicide at the sixth.

Matinovic killed 12 people, before taking his own life.

"In each location, an investigation was carried out and evidence was gathered that will be taken into consideration. The perpetrator of the murders committed suicide and this was at the sixth location where the investigation was done. Prosecutorial and police actions are underway that will shed light on the circumstances under which this event took place," Nastic said.
