Black day in Serbia: 3 people die traffic accident, and as many as 14 seriously injured

129 traffic accidents took place in Serbia yesterday in which three people lost their lives while 14 others were seriously injured.

"This is the period of the year when most pedestrians get killed in traffic accidents, and we appeal on pedestrians to cross the road in the prescribed manner, only after making sure that the driver had noticed them, and has started to brake," the Traffic Police directorate told Telegraf.rs on Tuesday, and added:

"Keep in mind that wearing reflective materials, when participating in traffic at night and in conditions of reduced visibility, saves pedestrian lives.

During the holidays last year, from December 31 to January 8, 15 people were killed in traffic accidents, while 68 were seriously injured.

"Be responsible - do not drive if you have consumed alcohol or other substances that negatively affect perception, judgment and safe behavior in traffic. Us from the Traffic Police Administration wish you to be safe and not endanger others during the holidays."
