Prime Minister Milos Vucevic said yesterday in Vrnjacka Banja that Serbia's GDP growth in 2024 is expected to be at least 3.8 percent, while next year it should be 4.5 percent.

"We expect GDP growth of at least 3.8 percent, we are waiting for the latest estimates regarding VAT, maybe we will go to 3.9, maybe even 4 percent growth. 3.8 GDP growth in 2024 has been secured. We expect inflation of 4.5, 4.6, 4.7 percent, we'll see what it will be," Vucevic told reporters in Vrnjacka Banja, after a session of the Government's Council for Coordination of Activities and Measures for GDP growth.

Vucevic stressed that Serbia would have had higher GDP growth, if there had not been for the drought that negatively affected agriculture.

The prime minister added that he expects GDP to continue growing to 4.5 percent in 2025, as well as for inflation to continue to decrease.

"And what does this mean for every citizen of Serbia, here in Vrnjacka Banja and in Stopanja, Kraljevo, Aleksandrovacka Zupa, Subotica, Trstenik, Vranje, Kosovska Mitrovica - that their salaries and pensions will increase," Vucevic said, and added:

"This means that the state will have the resources to continue to grow salaries and pensions and to continue the development of the country, that is the key message regarding GDP. And of course we control price growth, we do not have inflationary movements and we keep inflation at the defined level."
