Vucevic: Serbia must move forward, we owe it to the victims, the truth will be established
Prime Minister Milos Vucevic said today that Serbia, despite the tragedies and difficult moments that are happening, must move forward, as this is also a debt to the victims, and pointed out that nothing is more valuable than human life.
Vucevic told Tanjug, regarding the accusations coming from the opposition because of his appearance on a TV station, that this was the key message and stressed that it is necessary to watch the entire show in order to understand the meaning, rather than deliberately take things out of context.
He said that he does not accept moral advice from those who did not even express their condolences to the families of those killed in the accident at the train station in Novi Sad, let alone visit them, which he did.
"Serbia must move forward because it faced difficult moments before as well. And this is a very difficult moment for us, but it is precisely because of the families of those who died that we have to go forward, to help them and this is the obligation of the whole state, when I say the state I mean the people and citizens. Serbia must not stop, it must move on, we owe that to the victims," emphasized the prime minister.
He added that the truth will be established, and that those who are responsible will be held accountable.
"There is no doubt about that and they will be punished in accordance with the law, not in accordance with the laws of the street, but in accordance with the laws of Serbia, because we are a state, not an anarchy, because we are a regulated system, not a system in which the street decides who is guilty and who is not and how they should be punished. This is not the era of the Wild West, this is the time of the rule of law and of the system," said Vucevic.
