Pristina: Kurti fails to show up at so-called special prosecutor's office
The prime minister of the provisional institutions of Pristina, Albin Kurti, did not appear today at the so-called special prosecutor's office in Pristina, where he was supposed to testify in a criminal case, local media are reporting.
A spokeswoman of the special prosecution, Liridona Kozmaci, stated that Kurti's cabinet informed them that he is not in Kosovo and Metohija and that it is impossible for him to appear at the prosecution.
She added that, in accordance with the law, the prosecution will send another summons to Kurti, but that the date has not yet been determined.
On December 12, Kurti received a summons to appear today at the special prosecutor's office, and it was stated then that in case of unjustified failure to do so, he would be fined 250 euros.
The media in Pristina said at the time that Kurti should testify in a case related to the abuse of position or authority, in connection with the "commodity reserves case."
Preparim Krieziu, a spokesman for the government of the provisional Pristina institutions, assessed that by asking Kurti to testify, the prosecution was trying to "influence the results of elections" scheduled for February 9, 2025.
