Dragisa Vicentijevic's motion to be released rejected: He is accused of attacking Ibar-Lepenac canal
A court has rejected the appeal filed by lawyer Milos Delevic against the decision to keep Dragisa Vicentijevic, who is suspected of attacking the Ibar-Lepenac canal, in custody, Ekonomia Online writes.
The Basic Court in Pristina previously ordered Vicentijevic to be kept in detention for one month on suspicion of "endangering the constitutional order by destroying or damaging public installations and equipment" and "committing a terrorist act," as well as "unauthorized ownership, control or possession of weapons."
Delevic filed an appeal against that decision, claiming that it violated the legal rules relevant to the case.
In the appeal, the lawyer states that there is no evidence against his client to support the suspicion that he committed the criminal acts he is accused of.
In addition, he stated that the prosecution's evidence against Vicentijevic is based on the finding weapons and wet boots in his house, which, according to him, is related only to the criminal offense of unauthorized ownership, control or possession of weapons.
As reported by Pristina-based Ekonomia Online, Delevic also stated in the complaint that Vicentijevic, a Serb, has all his property in Kosovo and Metohija and that there is no danger of flight if he is released.
The appeal was opposed by the prosecutor.
The prosecutor's office stated that during the search carried out by the police, two AK47 pistols, a revolver, three loaded and three empty bullets, three hand grenades and 100 pieces of ammunition were found, reports Kosovo Online.
Based on this, the court decision states that there is legal obligation to impose a security measure against the defendant at this stage of the procedure.
The prosecutor's office said that finding weapons in the defendant's house increases the likelihood that he will repeat criminal acts, considering that he is a repeat offender, as well as being suspected of the crime of "aggravateda murder."
