The director of the Clinical Center of Vojvodina, Dr. Vesna Turkulov, said today that the condition of the two patients who were seriously injured during the Novi Sad railway station collapse has not changed, and that they are still in the intensive care unit.

Turkulov thus denied the claims that appeared on social networks that the accident allegedly claimed another victim.

"They are still in the intensive care unit. Laboratory and other supplementary tests are done every day, they are cared for in the conditions of an operating room and the therapy is adjusted according to the results," the doctor told Tanjug.

She underlined once again that the condition of the patients has not changed, i.e., that it is stable.

"With all patients who are treated in intensive care units, not only these, there is always a risk of some serious infections that can be life-threatening. Those are seriously ill patients, due to the nature of the disease," said Turkulov.

According to her, the condition of the two persons injured during the collapse is being monitored additionally, and a meeting of doctors is scheduled for next week, where everything that has been done so far will be evaluated and a plan and program made to further stabilize the patients.

When the railway station canopy collapsed on November 1, 14 people died instantly while three were seriously injured. One of them later succumbed to her injuries in the hospital.
